6 Week Milestone

While I was pregnant, Jason and I conferred with several friends and family as well as Samantha's Doctor and mine to determine the sleeping arrangements for Samantha when we brought her home.  We decided early on that she would sleep in our room for the first 6 weeks then we would move her into her room.  We knew exhaustion was going to take over the first few weeks so having her close would be ideal! 

Well, this weekend marked the time when Samantha moved out!  I think it was harder for Jason and I than Samantha.  We really liked having her close and being able to see her at any point in the night without having to get out of bed, which when you are exhausted seems like you are climbing a mountain.  Samantha is doing well and adjusting to her new surroundings and her new bed.  Jason and I are adjusting to using the monitor and knowing that our need to have her with us at every moment is not as important as her learning to sleep on her own.  And the tough parenting choices begin . . .
